Guitarist Needed: Excellent Exposure (West Hollywood) posted on March 9, 2010
I'm looking for an acoustic guitar player for a laid back gig. Someone who just wants to play out, or someone who has his/her own band and is looking for another way to promote themselves and showcase their talent. Down the road I'm also looking for a permanent member to my new band produced by Dennis MacKay. More on that later.
Through my connections, I've been asked to play acoustic sets at the Sunset Hamlet, right across from where the SoHo is at Doheny Road and Sunset on the patio on Friday nights, maybe every other one.
The exposure there on a Friday night might be incredible, since I'd basically be playing for all the guests as they get in and out of their cars in Valet
I'm a vocalist; I do not play much guitar, so I'd need a guitarist. I'd be into doing about half covers (Push/Matchbox 20, Gin Blossoms, Neil Diamond, etc) and the rest originals. I do play some guitar, and with a little help could also play. I'd be willing of course to play your songs, too.
As I said the exposure for other gigs, your guitar playing, my singing, your singing, could be huge. Right now we would not be responsible for bringing anyone in, but could get a few bucks a head for anyone we did, so the trade off would be they'd buy us dinner for a couple hour sets. I'd say no more than two 45 minute sets, or so. Later there could be pay, but again I am looking for the exposure only. The Sunset Hamlet is frequented by many, many industry people, and it would be like shooting fish in a barrel.
You can hear my music and voice at SeanPatrick dot us, (not dot com.).
